Delhi to Nepal: Flight vs Road Trip Planning
For most short Nepal holidays from Delhi, flying to Kathmandu is the sensible starting point. Road travel becomes more attractive when the journey itself matters, the group is larger, or the plan includes a longer circuit from an Indian gateway. A Delhi-origin page should therefore not pretend one transport mode is always best: flight-first and road-first itineraries serve different travellers.
Why flying usually wins
For a four- or five-day holiday, a direct Kathmandu arrival protects the actual Nepal time. Saving money on transport is not useful if two holiday days disappear into road travel.
When road can still work
Large groups, long holidays and travellers who deliberately want Lumbini, Chitwan and Pokhara as an overland circuit may choose an Indian gateway and continue by private vehicle.
Build around the destination mix
Kathmandu + Pokhara is naturally flight-friendly. Lumbini + Chitwan + Pokhara becomes more interesting as a road circuit. The package should follow that logic.
